Air Council
Air Council discusses members’ views on developments that impact the air freight sector. The Council comprises members which rely on air freight, including carriers, airports, forwarders, supply companies and shippers.
The Council establishes Logistics UK’s aviation policy on topics including the Government’s Aviation 2050 Strategy, noise and night operations, climate change and air pollution, Heathrow expansion, air cargo security and specific issues on Brexit affecting the air freight sector.

Rail Council
Rail Council discusses members’ views on the latest issues, industry developments and topics affecting freight movement by rail. The Council establishes Logistics UK’s policy asks for rail freight and ensures members are fully involved with government policies and regulation in the rail sector. Logistics UK is campaigning to unlock the full potential of the rail network and ensure rail reform works for UK plc.

Modal councils
Water Council
Water Council discusses members’ views on how Logistics UK represents businesses across the maritime supply chain, including shipping lines, river and canal operators, ports, rail and road operators, 3PLs and forwarders. Logistics UK is campaigning for world-class rail and road connections to the UK’s maritime ports, more effective government support to encourage a modal shift to maritime, and greater use of the UK’s inland waterway network for freight.
