Delivering Decarbonisation 2026

My current role is Distribution Director at ADM Milling UK and I have worked in flour milling distribution for more than 30 years.  Having progressed through roles including Heavy Vehicle Technician, HGV Driver, Transport Supervisor, Regional Distribution Manager and Flour Mill General Manager, I have many years of operational and leadership experience across the supply chain. 

I spent eight years as General Manager of ADM’s Corby Flour Mill, leading several major business transformation projects.  I now lead ADM’s transport decarbonisation programme, including the deployment of electric heavy goods vehicles and charging infrastructure.  ADM currently operates five 42-tonne eHGVs, with a further two vehicles entering service later this year, providing valuable insights into the opportunities and challenges of fleet decarbonisation. 

Jamie Sands is the founder of TwentyForty, a innovation platform accelerating the future of freight, and Head of Solutions at Welch Group, a family-run logistics operator with 90 years in the sector. 

Jamie leads fleet electrification initiatives and coordinates Welch Group’s participation in government-funded innovation programmes including eFreight2030 (within the ZEHID consortium), Connected Places Catapult projects, and CAM Pathfinder initiatives. This work involves managing technology trials with partners across electrification, autonomous systems, and operational data, acting as a proxy to help independent operators engage with emerging technologies. 

Jamie hosts The Loading Bay, a media platform sharing practical freight industry content in an operator-to-operator voice, and leads 12 Pillars of Change, a structured initiative bringing together stakeholders from twelve critical sectors for policy dialogue and collective advocacy. 

Zak is a Campaign Manager at Clean Cities, leading the Electrify London campaign. He previously worked at London Councils, the umbrella body for London’s local authorities, where he led policy development and advocacy on net zero and air quality. Prior to this, he worked at Asthma + Lung UK, campaigning for a stronger Environment Bill and greater action by cities to tackle air pollution.

Michael is a Director of MDS Transmodal. He has been with the company for 23 years and brings more than 27 years’ experience within the logistics and freight transport sector to the team.

Michael specialises in logistics, road and rail freight operations, transport economics, the planning system and transport policy analysis and development. Before joining MDS Transmodal, Michael worked for 5 years in the Third Party Logistics sector, both as a Contract Manager and Project Implementation Manager.

Michael advises clients in both the public and private sectors, and has previously provided expert witness evidence at public planning inquiries on rail freight and logistics matters.

Joe Hurst is the Logistics Sustainability Lead for Nestlé UK & Ireland. He also serves as a Director for ZEMO Partnership and as Industry Chair of the Centre for Sustainable Road Freight. His primary focus is driving the decarbonisation of logistics across the UK market.

Luis started his career in pest control, sanitation and biohazard remediation before spending eight years as a construction and exhumations regulator, and the last six working closely with plant suppliers and temporary power. He now operates at the intersection of operations and policy, helping industry navigate a noisy environmental landscape while advocating for pragmatism and real-world outcomes.

Lukas Seruset is the Group Transformation Director at Culina, where he leads strategic transformation, project delivery, operational excellence, automation, and sustainability initiatives across the entire group. With a background in large-scale change and logistics operations, he focuses on delivering practical sustainable transformation that improves performance, drives innovation, and creates long-term customer value.

Maddi Solloway-Price is the Interim Deputy Director of Policy and leads Logistics UK’s Road Freight team as the Head of Road Freight and Infrastructure Policy, championing the needs of the logistics sector across a wide spectrum of issues, from engineering policy and road regulation to driver welfare, freight crime, and roadside facilities.

Maddi brings insight into the workings of government and how to drive meaningful change on behalf of Logistics UK’s members. Her strategic leadership ensures that the voice of the logistics industry, particularly its drivers, is heard at the highest levels of decision-making. Maddi is passionate about securing recognition and prioritisation for the logistics sector, advocating tirelessly to ensure that the industry’s vital role in the UK economy is both understood and supported by policymakers.

Recognised by Greenfleet in 2026 as a “Top 100” influencer, Chris joined the RHA in September 2019 to lead its environment policy work. He is actively engaged in shaping the Net Zero agenda to deliver sustainable outcomes for commercial vehicle operators and, in particular, small businesses.

Most recently, he has overseen a series of research reports articulating operator-readiness for decarbonisation (June 2025), a call for regulated vehicle weights to increase to ensure commercial parity between electric HGVs and their diesel equivalents (March 2026), and how skills must evolve for the Net Zero transition to succeed (September 2026).

Previously, he was a Civil Servant for 18 years – predominantly at the Home Office developing policies to reduce offending by heroin and cocaine addicts and to address domestic abuse. Together with a family background in haulage, he brings extensive experience and insight into how central and local government decision-making and policy-making works at the highest levels.

In 2025 Chris’s role changed so that, in addition to Net Zero, he now heads-up the RHA’s policy team covering skills, roads infrastructure, road safety, commercial vehicle sector costs, international trade, coaches and future technologies – such as autonomous vehicles and artificial intelligence.
