Commercial transport operators across the UK are at different stages of the transition, and expectations around how the sector will decarbonise vary enormously from business to business. Some are at the beginning of their journey, hesitant about taking their first steps, while others have detailed strategies on how they plan to reach net zero targets.

When it comes to taking your first steps on your decarbonisation journey, sometimes the most useful guidance and advice can be dispensed not by government and official bodies but through hearing the experiences and insights of other operators.

In this report, we share some of the anonymised case studies which we originally compiled for the Department for Transport as part of its Freight Energy Forum: Workstream 1 project. Acting as the role of facilitator, Logistics UK led a series of one-to-one conversations with industry to look at ways to support decarbonisation across the sector.

We have included a selection of those case studies here, which capture the experiences of operators large and small, from a range of sectors.
